If you’re looking for culture, history and creativity then please, please, please check out Hyndland. This idyllic region in Glasgow is every inch as quaint as it is appealing – and we’re not exaggerating when we say that it simply oozes creative residents in all shapes and sizes. Some of the countries’ most well-known footballers, authors, actors and poets call this location their home – and although the property market is still substantially lower than within other parts of the UK, it’s still pretty high for Scotland.
So, what can a visitor do in this area?
What can’t you do, more like! There are retail outlets for shopping, fashion centres, cafés and restaurants, sports clubs, lifestyle clinics and much, much more that can be enjoyed. The high quality delicatessens are just one appeal of the region – with fresh pastries, meat, fish and vegetables being sourced from the local farms and this in itself can be pretty appealing.
Getting around is quite simple, with two train stations running through the district. The architecture is lovely to put it simply, with red sandstone being featured prominently (most of which is sourced from the nearby Scottish quarries). There are two rugby teams, a couple of schools and more churches than you could shake a stick at – all of which can help to provide an ideal location for a small family hoping to relocate. But what about the salons? Are there any, are they easy to find and are they suitable for visitors?
Yes, yes and yes.
There are literally a dozen salons in the region, or more if you count the small spas and hair treatment clinics. Each offers their own style of treatment; with some following the more traditional routes, others specialising in Oriental services and fewer focusing on exclusive options instead. We’ve found that the best way to decide on one that you might like is by getting to know what each one offers.
And what better way to do that than by taking a look at our listings? We’ve put together a list of the most affordable, reliable and effective in Glasgow, so dive in and see for yourself!
